I agree with that!

Fuzz central is a really nice site too!

Looks like your ready to take on the mod's for the OS-2 now that you have both the SD-1 and DS-1 figured out.   :D

I wish I had gotten ahold of the OS-2 we had at work earlier...it sold last night    Hopefully we'll be making another order with Roland/Boss soon, and I'm sure that more OS-2 will be on there since they've sold out already in the 2 or 3 weeks that we've had the Boss pedals.

I'd like to take a crack at the OD-3 also...I really like that one.  The thing about OD-3 is that it's quite complicated and it's built in what I call the "Ibanez style" (i.e. ToneLok pedals)...with tiny little 1/8-watt resistors and a PCB with traces that are like fractions of a millimeter apart.

Phillip you are the man!
I cheer in in the thanks and well done's!
Ok. Now I just got to figure out where to get those Panasonic caps at a reasonable price here in sweden, haven't seen them at any of my ordinary suppliers...but that'll be a labour of love I guess :D
Best regards!

I think Wima MKS (good) or MKP (better) will do the trick also. They should not be to difficult to get over there.

Yes, the Wima MKS are easy to get, I have some at home but not enough for the mod. So, in a way I was also shopping for some new really good caps to use both in the mod and for my future builds. Maybe I got the "voodoo-capacitor" blues :D Haven't found MKP's that are small enough though...

The hard part is going to be finding metal film caps that are small enough to fit on the board and inside the small Boss box.  The Panasonic Vs are the smallest ones that I've ever seen...if you can afford the international shipping from Digikey, I would highly recommend them...even the 1uF film cap is fairly small.

Hey Gripp, yep, the caps are Panasonic. I have a few left from all of the mod packs RK sent me.

I noticed in that article that it said that C4, the 250pF ceramic cap that goes between the collector and base of Q2 is replaced with a 470pF silver mica.  I didn't see that one changed on a SEM circuit board, but I think it might be changed in the Ultra mod, specifically the one that he modified for Steve Vai.

As a side note, I just found out from Keeley himself that he also replaces C8 in his SD-1 mods.  C8 is the 0.047uF capacitor on the base of the output buffer transistor.  He didn't say what value he uses...most likely another 0.1uF.
