"TI does not accept sample request from the Internet for Argentina. You can purchase TI devices from the TI web site. For samples, please contact the TI Product Information Center at +1(972)644+5580 or an authorized TI distributor."

:(  :(  :(

It was too good to be true, so now i'm out to find another place that will give away ic samples, if anyone knows, please let me know, as it's almost impossible for me to buy them (if available at the local stores, they are way overpriced, and my budget is *tight*).

I have found sample providers for other stuff, but the only one that actually sent me stuff was TI (i guess Argentina is not a great market for electronic parts :) ).

I will post the list of manufacturers that i have found have a sample policy if someone is interested, maybe in that way i can help others like me ( that don't live in Argentina).

Thanks in advance.

http://www.national.com/ has free samples of some ic's. I'm not sure about their policies though.

I don't know nothing about samples. Anybody with experience could tell me about it? I saw in the National site some things like 24 hours samples, what is this?

The sample program is targeted for industrial customers, you have to provide a company name and so on when you signup for the sample program.

However I had no problems getting free samples as a student, TI has the possibility to choose "Study/Research" when ordering samples, so I think there's nothing wrong with it if you are a student. Use your university e-mail account if you can, looks better!

TI has a nice selection of audio op amps, most of them are available as samples

Gringo, if TI doesn't ship to Argentina, try the other seminconductor companies (no experience with these myself though):

http://www.analog.com/
http://www.fairchildsemi.com/
http://www.onsemi.com/
http://www.maxim-ic.com

Good luck!

Let me see if I understood. When you ask for a sample, a company gives for you a IC for free? And what about the 24 hour sample that I said? There is a limit for the samples?

Yes, you ask for samples, and if there are available, they send you a small number for free.

The "24 hour sample" is just the name they give to their fast sample service.

Usually there is a limit of requests per week, and a limit for the different devices required as well.

Marcos, if you are interested, send me a pm :)

Spongebob, thanks for the links, i have tried all of them before, the only one that sends stuff to Argentina is Maxim, but i requested some max1044 (charge pump chips) and they never send them :(. I'll try again, who knows...

Edit: National Semi asks for you to pay shipping, but they don't say how much, so i don't know if i will be able to pay it when the package arrives. Anyone knows how high can this get?
