Hi again,
Could I just quickly have a clarification? the red lead on the 9 volt is the positive, right? those little yellow 'box' type caps (common at radio shack- and there is a photo of one here in the faqs)- they are not polarized are they?
Also, on the ff, PNP + ground schem from "the techology of" article, it says just 'input' and 'output'on the schem- these should go to 'ring', right? (I saw that this is how the schem from the ggg site depicts the circuit). So I have the input and output to their respective 'ring'- but I realized I have my red wire ( as this is + ground) with all my other grounds (as per 'the technology of' article)- but on the ggg site the red wire goes to input tip. Could this be the problem perhaps?
Also, one quick question in regards to Ge transistors- how do others around here work out which is C,B,E? Using the diagram Steve supplied, of the bottom veiew, i turned my transistor over (so it was the same as the diagram) worked out which was E, and then put the parts in the socket. Is this right?
I thank you all once again,
Cheers,
Luke

Hi
yes ,red is positive
For all polarized caps have a + or red .I think yellow are NP
NPN transistors in FF ,TB,or other fuzz are positive grounded:positive lead of the supply is connected to the ground .You must have a stereo input jack. Tip is signal input from your guitar, ring is connected to the positive supply lead ((in case you've got a external supply jack)
sleeve is ground.
When you plug the the mono  input jack, the contact is done beetween ring and sleeve and now you're supplying your circuit . Generaly the output jack isn't  stereo .

Thanks Bruno-
I wonder if that is it?
Its 1:25 AM here now- so I cant try it just yet, but it sounds promising...
Thanks man :)
