He had some good hookup wire and he was in a good mood.
I'ts 24 ga. insulated, works good, the insulation is more heat resistant than I would prefer, I had some that I could strip with my thumbnail...that was nice.
I got the whole roll for 3, and have been using it for over a year...still probly half of it is left...
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

I use Gore teflon insulated. It's not perfect; it takes much finesse to strip, but the insulation is very heat-resistant.

I have a ton of cheap solid-core wire... using that until it's gone.
It works.. so far at least.

i use the prebond stuff from small bear, its nice not to always have the strands going everywhere

Yeah, I got Steve's 5 spools for 20 bucks deal the last time I ordered from small bear cause I was running low. I'm really liking it so far, easy to deal with, and strip.

Add another vote for the Small Bear wire.  It's fantastic stuff, great price, and getting different colors for color-coding is very helpful.

I'm using 24 ga. Teflon covered. It's great to not worry about melting the insulation accidently.
