I'm trying to build the "vanishing point" but I can't find the 40194 chip :(
Does anyone know if I can use something else?
I've read that I can make one 40194 from two 4013 but I don't know how...

Thanks

You could use two 4013s to make a 4-bit shift register but it won't be bi-directional so no bounce feature. Some of the other logic would have to be reworked to make it work as well.

There are similar ICs in other logic families but most of them run off the typical 5v supply hence one of the reasons I use the 40194 which can run off of 9v. When it comes to getting specific ICs go with a good supplier like Digikey or Mouser. Here are the part numbers for both suppliers

Digikey:

296-14254-5-ND

Mouser:

595-CD40194BE

I hope this helps.
