High V Clipping

 What about... ...
 Taking an small amp, enough say to drive a speaker, and putting a row of LED's [these have the highest clipping threshold of all?] and each way from ground for clipping...ok they'd burn out?
 Then something like High Voltage diodes?
 taht said..
 What 'limitations [or impossibileness] are inhibiting this technique from being used?

rather take high current than high voltage diodes,
and do this only on an amp with output (electrolytic)
-capacitor or output-transformer...
