I must be lucky. I get another echo today. This is a Roland DSG 1000, and it has many options, and longer echo than I could normally use.
It was said to have not worked, now I have the guilt associated with the greed of liking the darn thing, and the plans to use it...oh in the new HEAVY Rock Band we've got going...Ed has the HUGE [to me] PA that could use one of these.
I bought a used ART Proverb for 10$ a while back, doesn't do the long echoes like the Roland, but does a pretty good reverb to delay sounds.
Bout ten years ago I spent 140 for a Boss RV-3, very compact of course...actually that does long enough echoes, the Roland seems a little cleaner, and different, maybe less dull sounding.
At any rate these digital echo machines I've been coming by on the super cheep work PDGood.
IMO they have a 'digitalness' that is close to the "Tapiness' of an old tape echo Ie...it probably can't really compete with a perfect working, superb tube/tape echo, but may 'beat' an old tape in an old tape echo....just another, in a sea of opinions on this one.
There's no building/modding fun to be had from echo purchases, but if I'm coming by them this cheepo, either it's a fluke or these things can be had for very reasonable prices.
