A friend asked me about a simple booster to use in blues songs. I was taking a look in Jack Orman's site, and saw the Muffmaster. I really liked the info, and breadboarded it. I didn't liked the sound, and I had a 2N7000 in front of me, then I tried it. It sounds clean, but with a good improvement in the tone. I used a 0.22uF as the input cap and a 0.047uF as the output cap. I added a 10uF cap to ground, to control the gain (like in the Fuzz Face). The booster with high gain isn't very amazing, but when I used it with my amp distortion, I entered in that amazing high gain area. It improved the hartificial harmonics a lot, and this is a thing that I really like to do (Zakk Wylde      :P), added more gain and more definition. I didn't tried it with other effects, but I will try with my Whisker Biscuit and my Double Jam.

I think just a simple op-amp circuit makes the best clean booster... order some free samples of those new audio op-amps with JFet inputs from analog devices, they send em to you free free free...

What's the difference between incompetence and indifference?  I don't know and I don't care!

Sometime I will give a try. Maybe after finish some effects that I started to build.
