only sorta OT: did I blow a radio?

I recently scored a car radio for free, and hoped to hook it up in my basement by my workbench....so I pulled out a computer power supply I had, finally got that powered up and reading 12v.  So I plugged in power to the radio, and the clock display went on for a couple of seconds, then went off, and won't power up again.  The power supply still reads 12v.

Now I realize that car radios expect unregulated power, but I thought this should work.  I hooked up a 12v, unregulated wall wart to it, and got absolutely nothing....

Most of the circuit is kept at potential, runing a meter probe across the boards.  The speaker outs read +12v with respect to ground...

Sorry to post here, but Its actually about electronics, and I want people to see it.  If its too off topic, I'll delete and repost at the lounge.

That is a very bad sign  :(

I've been thinking about it a little more - is it possible to have blown something becuase no speakers were connected?  The only reason i dont think this is the case is that the radio was in the "off" position...It should only have been clock and whatnot, with no audio playing.

solid state devices are usually fine when no speakers are connected. In fact, you're probably lucky, as 12VDC on a speaker might have blown it as well!
