I had long wanted a small rotary selector that did not cost a fortune. Alpha recently  brought out the SR10010F series that Mouser sells for close to $6.00 in small quantities. But the version in their catalog has a 20mm "D" shaft. Alpha has made one for me with a 15mm round shaft, so you don't have to cut it down, and any knob will fit. $3.95 each, and commercial quantities are in stock:
