Maestro S&H circuit to control a MacMeat?

I've just added a Tremulus Lune LFO to my McMeat filter with great success and sudenly I wondered if the S&H circuito, part of the Maestro FSH-1 Filter could be used for driving the LED´s on the McMeat...
Any thoughts about it?

Or even the use of a non-symetrical 9v power supply with voltage divider is not enough for the S&H side of the Maestro does its job?
