I want to order one but don't want to get one that hums or whines... what brand are you using?

recycled 18V DC wall-wart (50c), 4 x 1N4001 series diodes to drop some voltage, 470uF smoothing cap and LM7812 (for super-low ripple).

more specifically, how about a 1-spot?  They have a 12v version.  Just don't want to buy something and have it hum or whine...
