I was looking for a simple(ish) circuit to test out some OTAs. Also, I've never tried the Small Stone so I'm excited to see how it suites my pedal board. I haven't seen any build reports on this but I've noticed the GGG project calls for a 100nF capacitor for C6 while every photo of the original I've seen has a 6.8nF in it's place. The build notes do not mention this change. Possibly a typo in R.G.'s schematic drawing that was overlooked?

Perhaps some of you fine folks experienced with this circuit could chime in and verify my concern. No big deal obviously. Just archiving discrepancies. Thanks!

Hey... replying from the future to thank you for this useful observation.   I built a GGG small clone a while back and while it sounds indistinguishable from a 70's small stone on the normal setting, with the color switch on, it was always too bright and thin sounding.    I just stumbled across this post and checked inside the vintage SS, sure enough that cap is a 6.8nF.   I changed it in the clone stone and now have the proper color sound, so this value definitely makes a difference and I can confirm that it does appear to be an error in the schematic. C6 should be 6.8nF ... not 100nf.    Hope this helps other future builders

Thank you for your contribution! I'm glad my skepticism had eventually helped someone  8)

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.
