Laser Waterslide paper recommendations?

Hi,

In the distant past I've had great results using paper from a seller in the UK that was called Crafty paper or something similar. They're no longer around so I purchased a couple of types from Amazon under the Transourdream and Divchi brands.

Despite following the instructions on each, I've thus far had lousy results, with one type falling apart as it was being applied, and the other developing nasty cracks over time as per the attached photo.

I've made loads of pedals and other tech devices in the past and had great success labelling them, so I'm not a noob to this game!

Any recommendations please?
Thanks

For years I've been using Lazertran and just have a couple of sheets left. After reading your post I thought I'd better get some more, but it turns out that the company that made it finished last year. The results were as good as screen printing. It's sad that it's disappeared.

I have the end of a pack of Lazertran paper too, but I have to say I don't like it much. The toner from my laser printer doesn't actually stick to it, so I have to spray a couple of clearcoats on the transfer before I even attempt to waterslide it. Otherwise the toner just floats away in the water leaving me with a blank sticker.
Something where the toner wanted to stay put would be nice and would save one whole phase of spraying, letting dry, etc.

Anyway, if you can't get it anymore it's irrelevant, but in my view it wasn't that good - at least, not with my printer.

I think this type of paper in general works best with older printers. I kept a 90s Laserjet 4ML just for toner transfer jobs and the results were really good. It laid down a heavy deposit of toner and the fuser ran at high temperature - both of which have been reduced to improve efficiency in later printers to improve efficiency.

After Crafty shut up shop, I found Gecko.  Pretty much the same product.
