A purple UV LED would look cool in that & compliment the purple text!

Nice!!
Listen to cKy!

DaKurt

yes, how did you do the text? looks verrry sweeet ;)

Search this forum for the Dark T Shirt Transfer threads...

Dark T-Shirt Transfer paper. You iron it on.

I use the filters in Photoshop. It has a drop shadow and a purple outside glow.

another question, how hard was it to make this box? How many pedals did you build before?

The boxes get easier to do. I've built about 15 effects, only 3 so far with the dark t-shirt stuff. I design the box first on the computer, measuring the components, circuit board etc. to make sure it will all fit. Then I take that, print it out and tape it to the box. This becomes my pattern for where all the holes will be drilled. (I use this same pattern to determine where the graphics will go) Then I take a spring loaded center punch to make an indentation for the drilling. The next step is to sand it and iron on the transfer paper. The final step is to coat it in epoxy.

Hope this helps

That's true. I do have a blue LED in it though.

toneman

how did U get the pic on this page?????

do U use the "button"   labeled "img" just below subject line?

OR

is you pic actually a link somewhere else.
(i don't think so since it come up right away with the posts)

PLMK
inquiring minds and all that.

BTW, after U sand the top, and then iron on the transfer,
U said "epoxy".  Do U mean a clear coat??
Which brand do U use?

Beautiful box! beautiful picture!

thanx

Dang that is nice looking! maybe I should bust out my sheets of this stuf again.
Say I am right in the modding an older one and I am curcious about yours.
What does the "emphasis" knob do?
Color and vibrato I got but what is the third toggle?
Thanks and nice box indeed!!

The only way to get a picture to show up is through a link. I have it on my web page. I take the url address paste it into the reply box here, highlight it and hit the "Img" button.

Its a 2 part epoxy that is used in model airplaning (sp?). Mix it up and paint it on. There is a link at Smallbear where I learned this from. Its under the project section I believe. Look for "Tweak-O".

Thanks

There is a couple of links with the other pedals I used this method on. We discussed the techniques there. May be helpful.

The emphasis knob just gives you more control over the color. (I guess I should say "colour" now that I'm living in the UK).
The other switch is a phase mod. It seems to change the sweep a bit.

I'll paste in what I found for those mods so you don't have to try to find them.

This one is over at Tonepad in the build reports.

Mods to control "color": suggested by RG Keen via JD sleeps' site.

10K trimmer instead of R11
2K resistor in series w/ 5K linear pot instead of R42

Crank the pot all the way up and then turn down the trim until right before the squealing starts. You're done!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I found this one from moosapotamus

Phase Filter MOD

Lift the end of C9 where it goes to IC3 pin 6, and tie it to one of the center lugs on a DPDT toggle switch.

Lift the end of C8 where it goes to IC4 pin 6, and tie it to the other center lug on that same switch.

Wire two of the poles on one side of the switch back to the pads that you lifted the ends of the caps from on the PCB. This will be the 'stock' setting, with the last two stages configured normally, as all-pass filters.

Wire the other two poles on the other side of the switch to ground. This will be the 'phase-filter' setting, with the last two stages configured as low-pass filters.

In addition, you'll want to do the 'vibrato' mod, which cuts the straight signal from the output. This will give you the full phase-filter effect. Lift the end of R8 (30K) that ties to C7/R13 and tie it to one of the lugs on a SPST switch. Tie the other lug on the switch back to the pad that you lifted the end of the resistor from on the PCB.

One warning. It means a massive amount of wires. I should take a picture of the inside of my box, wires everywhere. I was pretty sick of soldering by the time I finished this bad boy.
