Troubles with Pots types

I've just finished to build a Dod308 Malmsteen Signature and it works very fine.. BUT.. i have a problem..

it works only at maximum gain. I think it's because i'm not able to find a reverse log pot here and someone suggested me to use a linear pot.
Maybe with the linear pot resistance decreases too slowly ? in different positions the sound fades out...

what can i do ?  :roll:
