Hi Guys,

I have just bought a used RAT at a store, i tested it there with a battery and it worked great.
When i came home a put a new battery (the one that was at the pedal was from the guy at the store) and the battery started to heat like hell and the pedal does not work. I have a show tonight and i need it.
What can it be? not working with 9v transformer either
thanks

Test for a direct short with a DMM on beep mode, connect red and black leads to the units battery connections, if you hear a beep, you'll need to find where the culprit short is made
A short...look at the battery clip leads, see if anything looks like there could be a touch where no touch is needed wire.
Other...look for a stray piece of metal on the board...elswhere...
Sometimes you can see it, other times...'if there's continuity between - and + theres a short in there, you'll probably know where it is when you find it.
 inspect the 9V power jack.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

The only thing I know of that makes a battery hot is when the + and - are connected directly together...
