Hi evryone!
A friend brought me a dead Crybaby recently. Stock 90s style, completely wrecked. The PCB is ok safe for the inductor that has been torn apart and broken off the board. The pot is a bit noisy but the big trouble indeed is the inductor replacement. Id like to know if any of you ever tried the transformer as a replacement, or something similar( not just read the article- I know the GEO page backwards) as mentioned in the "tech of the wah pedal", since most of these things work perfectly only in theory. I also thought of building an entire diffrent circuit and using the original enclosure and pot, what would be better? Any suggestions or clues will be much appreciated. Thanx!

get what you pay for if you know what to choose
 haven'T tried it<
better' resultant wah tones can be had with BEtTER' inductOr
i'm using one of the two stock vox wah [newer lIke nineties] inductOrs i have.
i think an uPgrade woUld make me rate the wah beTTER', nOT That WHAT i use IS BAD', JUSt DIFFERENT...AND DOESN'T REALLY DO IT As WELL AS WHAT I THINK I CAN EXPECT.
[EXcUSE THE CAPS, I'M GOING TO HAVE TO REFORMAT].
if it were mine, id PUT In A nicE CLyde OR faseL
SEARCH 'Wah induCtOr' THEre was a lENGTHy THREAD A WHILE BACK ABOUT WAH inDUCTORS.

Steve Daniels sells Fasel inductors. The audio transformer DOES work, but not as well.

I thought about the same thing w a post not too long ago. Sounds like your better off maybe perfing a new board--buy a cheap dunlop inductor. I havnt heard anything good about the transformer usage from anyone..For just a few $$ more 12 usd you can get the standard dunlop inductor versus 4-5 $ for a half ass working transformer.. youll have to spend the money. But really..the price to get it going is still a lot cheaper than buying new.

Has anyone had any experience yet winding their own ferrite cores?
Because, it is going to be very difficult to get stuff sent to S America where the original poster is. Try transformers, who knows, you might like it!! some people have reported success.

I actually liked the sound of the transformer. It kinda tone sucks from the circuit thought as some of the signal also induces itself on the second coil.

...well I don't know exactly what would be going on, but, experimentally, I wonder if anything interesting can be done by putting caps across the second coil???
