i have a friend of mine who needs me to repair his wah....

sometimes...it just goes out on him,  very intermitent.....

i looked at all of the solder joints...and it all looks really good...

do you suppose that the pot is out?

can i use a 250k pot in place of a 100k in a gcb-95 crybaby?

if everything looks good on the board check for a loose jack or a bad pot or switch, once i had a loose connection because of a bad snap on my battery cap connecter,

Intermittent no sound or intermittent no wah? Clicks and pops when it happens? Scratchy sound when rocking the rocker?

Cubic Zirconia looks really good, just like diamonds, too.
It's almost as fast to remelt all the solder joints as to visually inspect them.

Use a voltmeter and measure the voltages on the transistor when it's working and when it goes out. That will tell the tale.

Quotedo you suppose that the pot is out?
Could be. Could be bad battery snap, broken wire inside insulation, intermittent cracked or broken resistor, capacitor, transistor lead, ...

Quotecan i use a 250k pot in place of a 100k in a gcb-95 crybaby?
Yes, you can. The pot's exact value is not critical there. I wouldn't go to 50K or 1M, but 250K should work.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

A friend of mine had one that did the stutter-thing too, it was one of the jacks (pcb mounted) and the solder joints looked ok
Cut it large, and smash it into place with a hammer.
