Can change the sound of what comes after. Just about right for driving your Fuzz over the top. This is a Great Booster...
vol knob acts a little 'funny'...change the 100k value at output to ground and have it in the pocket 'your way.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Hi Torchy,

Here's a link to my reference:

http://www.geofex.com/circuits/what_are_all_those_parts_for.htm

Rrf & Crf   I may have mis-spoken about this, the article doesn't say having just the resistor is bad, but says having just the cap is bad.  Anyway, I believe I've seen this setup with Crf as high as 470pf to ground.  Since I know practically nothing about electronics math, I don't really know how to calculate the "safe" value for that cap.

I'll be experimenting (playing around) with this in the near future, I'll post if I find anything interesting to share.

Thanks for posting the link. I tried to find the info on Geo, but there is so much (interesting) stuff there that I didn't find it.

Before I read the article, I was about to ask if the cap was needed before or after the resistor. I never remember...    But then, after I read the article, I remembered that it is the same than for the power supplies. Except that we filter the RF in place of the 60Hz ac.

That would also be a nice place for an RF bead. I wonder if the resistor would still be needded if we used a bead, or if it would be best to keep the resistor and add a bead???

About the use of a resistor without a capacitor with a FET, maybe it works because of the capacitance at the gate of the FET.

Sorry, I had to do it...

Hi Giles,

Have you had any luck with the ferrite beads?  I bought a couple different sizes from mouser but haven't tried them yet.  Any ideas how I can creat some RF so I can do some testing? :-) (weird request, huh?)

If you have a RF signal generator, you could do what you want to do. You can probably get one pretty cheap thru ebay. I had one given to me but I have never used it, yet...

:D

I built the Stratoblaster as a pedal, with the 100 Ohm resistor as per schematic.

It seems fine, and works really well. It might be a Stratoblaster, but it's nice with a Les Paul as well - try it.
