Looks like that one would about fit on a DIST+ board.

Sorry about the bum link. I knew Gottfried had killed his site and forgot I'd linked that schematic to him.

About the Kay, remember, the schematic inside the box is wrong. Therefore, the internet schematic is wrong. It needs another cap for the "treadle" to do anything. You can see the added cap here:

Someone here (spaceshot?) had one and found the error. A superfuzz with no tone recovery stage.

"We don't need no tone 'covry stage."

(Damn you RDV!)

The Bible says, two men orn't not lay together, but I don't think the lord'd put a man like you in hades.

Aight then

Quote from: Rodgre"orange kay" on the Sling Blade soundtrack is in fact an orange kay fuzz pedal.

I know this for sure.

Roger

Well unfortunately for a song like that, it doesn't matter what you build you won't get the exact sound since it's several different sounds (mixed) that get the whole sound.  "Orange Kay" is definitely my favorite song on there.

The De Armond is on "Blue Waltz."

Hello Hello-
Yeah, even with all the exact guitars, amps, and studio it still wouldn't be the same.  The Kay fuzz has a personality that my other fuzzes don't have [as does the DeArmond Square Wave...]  so both of 'em are going to be built anyway.  As soon as a friend of mine gets back in town I'll be able to find out more about the gear that was used on that recording.....maybe I'll uncover another interesting fuzz!
Steve-- Thanks for the tip about "Blue Waltz" !
Brian.

Steve C

I think I'm gonna build the Kay also, just for that over the top fuzz sound.  Keep us posted on what your friend has to say as well  :D .  If you don't mind.

Hello Steve-
Yeah, not sure when he's due.......but I'm sure he'll have some good "gear" stories to tell.
What trannys are you putting in your Kay??  I think I'll use some BC184 and BC 182.
Brian.

I'm not sure yet, I'm gonna see if I can get away with something I already have lying around.
