I have just built a NeoVibe using a cirrcuit board purchased from G.G, but have not powered it up yet. I am going to use a 18 Volt DC external power pack.
I didnt instal the Bridge rectifier or the voltage regulator as the power pack will take care of that.
I would like to confirm where i should connect the positive and the negative wires from the external power supply onto the circuit board.

Any help would be appreciated

There are two large filter capcitors on the PCB layout. Connect the (-) lead from the exterior power pack to any point on the copper traces that connects to the (-) lead on those capacitor positions. You don't say whether you put in those two capacitors or not. One good place to connect it is the center pin of the missing regulator footprint.

The regulator footprint has two other pads. One leads to the (+) of the two big filter caps. The one which does NOT lead to the two big filter caps is where to connect the (+) lead of the external power pack.

Note that with three wire jumpers, you can make the pads for the original power supply go to the output pad of the regulator footprint. I prefer that for neatness.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Thanks for your quick reply and the really good explanation !!
Yes i did install the two big filter caps
I see what you mean regarding the PADs. I could put the negative lead on Pad O (which is in affect the centre pin of the missing regulator)
Put a flying jumper lead  from the regulator footprint (The one which does NOT lead to the two big filter caps . i.e  the O terminal of the Regulator pad ) to Pad K. Connect the positive lead to PAD K.
