Silly question but not stupid question...

Which way to the electrolytic caps go in a layout like this? If there were a schematic for it I'd be fine. I don't build stuff on vero board so I'm not quite sure.

I'm sorry sir, we only have the regular ohms.

I guessed right for C3 then...but since I was working from a black and white print out of this I thought they would all be the same. Thanks for clearing that up. I feel less silly then originally!

That program marks Neg with light grey shading.

Very hard to see until you know the trick.

In general: build it without the e-caps. Check your voltmeter's polarity (know which is red and black, + and -). Probe where each cap will go. Note which way is + and -. Now put the caps in.

There is an issue. C4 could be hit *either* way depending on VR1 setting. It may be that the "best" setting of VR1 produces that polarity. However you probably won't know until signal is applied and you listen while trimming VR1. Since C4 is only 1uFd, I would tack-in any large film (like 0.22uFd) and dial-up VR1. Then check C4 polarity, and insert e-cap.

I would be so lost without you people. I'll have to make notes on my print outs when I make something using the shaded grey layout... don't always wanna have my face  in front of the comp and its not a lap top so dragging it to my work area isn't the easiest. I got it working as is and I don't have much in the way of spare parts to experiment...I had to string a few things together already to make up some resistor values and one of the caps. Thanks again! and again and again.
