Hey,

I've tried audio pots made by Alpha and they are more like type 3 in this picture. Do you know who mades good audio pots which will be like type 2?

Most, if not all, log pots are type 3. True log is actually rather difficult to manufacture. It generally requires either variable depth or width tracks, which costs more. Honestly, the best way to get a true log is to get a higher value pot than you need and use a tapering resistor. RG's article 'The Secret Life of Pots' (which I believe that picture is from) describes the process. Rod Elliott's site has a project titled 'A Better Volume Control' that also has some good details on it.

Even the $17 slide-pots are fabricated as line-approximation.
