2 Ohm speaker, can I jack it up with resistors to 8 Ohms?

Its a nice vintage speaker and so I wonder if its usable in that way!

Yes, that'll keep your amp's output stage happy, but you'll be inefficiently burning away off all the excess power in the resistor. You will have effectively created an attenuator.


Wiring another speaker in series would probably be a better option, as then you'll get more volume as well :)

You'll end up dropping 3/4 of the power across the resistor.
