SMF for DIYStompboxes.com!
lol, yeah , we can play hide n seek together..
Maybe stupid question, but answer is appreciated: is it OK to use 4558 instad of TL072 in Orange Smothie?
ok, here's my entry, its taken a while to design (too bloody long) and get the switching right with a little help from Ian (slacker) cheers man. oh and a little help from mrs astronauts ideas on the etch design..... ()trying to muscle in on it..)introducing:The ''SPACE PATROL FUZZ''as you can see its basically a classic big muff with fat/thin switching, plus 3 other modes for synthy, buzzy, octavey, duck and swell type sounds..by switching diodes and collector resistors. (which was a pita to work out) rather like a bias control on a fuzz face...but for both collectors.schematic:pdf's: layout + pcb.https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7464107/SPACEPATROLFUZZLAYOUT.pdfhttps://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7464107/SPACEPATROLFUZZPCB.pdfguts...the wiring was a lot neater, but i had to pull out the pcb and remake it, and had limited tinker time to get t finished on time.. video demo...dry then with effects.. enjoy...p.s pedal backdrop coutersy of Mrs Astronauts dress....shhhhh...
Et voila.Name of entrant: ~arphPedal name: SentinelA bit about the pedal:This is a PT2399 based circuit, inspired by the Sewer Pipes Ring-Verb by EarthscumI posted some sound samples way back in may 2011 and got some great reactions, but the pedal suffered from a little problem that never made me put out the schematic. The volume could get out of control. I did a five knob version with a volume control but still wasn't satisfied as it meant constantly tweaking the volume knob. Then recently Jon Patton came up (with the help of some forumites) with a way to limit the output of the PT2399 chip by using an LED to GND from pin 7. This was ideal for this pedal and made me reopen the project. So I present, the sentinel. A pitch modulator, delay (albeit very limited), sewer pipe reverb and drone verb sounds in a very small circuit. It has four controls. Two are for modulation and two are for the delay.1. Rate, the speed of modulation2. Depth, the depth of the modulation effect3. Drone, the feedback of the delay. 4. Width, the delay time of the circuit. The key feature of this pedal in my eyes is the drone control combined with NO filtering in the feedback loop. This makes it possible to freeze notes, while you hear a drone sound in the back which pitch is determined by the delay time. (width). Because of this you can layer sounds and create complex mesmerizing soundscapes with just one pedal. It also does pitch pirate like sounds, crazy deep pitch modulation. Plus when the width control is set to minimum you'll have a sewer pipes like reverb sound. Because of the limiter on the PT2399 the volume of the drone sound can not exceed a certain level, while the input CAN take higher levels. This way you can play clearly over the drone sound when you use a boosted input signal with the drone sound following your notes. The rest is up to the images and sounds. It is just for reference.Images:Yes, that is a lightbulb jumper Video demo:Thank you for your attention, may the best one win!Arnoud
Re upload of schematic please
The fact this thread is alive again makes me notice the date on it - May 2013. Does this mean we'll get a 20TH anniversary contest next year? Should I start planning/scheming/panicking now?!?
