Very nice work ~arph. There is not a lot to not like there, and its good to see someone else using LED trick on the PT2399s.
The false bottom is a really nice touch that I haven't seen before. What size enclosure is that?
I see you are using an opto isolator in your bypass switching - is this to stop bleed through in bypass, or are you just showing off (its a nice implementation either way)?
Two LEDs in the LFO? Are they both indicators or are they limiting too?

Those LEDs are limiting too. It's a bit of a trade off. You loose a bit of depth on the lowest width setting, but you limit the max depth on max width setting, as this can cause the ic to break into some nasty distortion.  The optoisolator is there because I like the dpdt I used and I had these parts in stock.

request accepted, ive scrapped my project ,  i had to tinker with the pcb so much that i need to redesign it and doubt ill get time to get it up n running properly in time now ......gutted as i had it built,etched, etc, it just wasnt performing as planned though....oh well.....good luck to all.

Can't you put something together?  It doesn't have to be cutting-edge technology. A new Batman Fuzz, Space Fuzz, reverb, or blinking LEDs - anything.   We've got a bunch of prizes to give away, so we're going to need all the entries we can get.

Triune FET OD

The idea was pretty much born while the last contest here on DIYSB were running. I got the idea of taking my Blüe Monster Circuit one more step forward, to build up something similar around three fully phase-compensated frequency bands. For a fairly long time, i let the idea just sleep, but as this Contest were announced ... well, it kinda was time to realise the thing:) ... and here it is, alive and running. The Blüe Monsters bigger brother... the PINKÏNG!


…and what is that? The PINKÏNG? It’s a three band overdrive/distortion thing!

From left to right: After the input buffer, the signal is split in Three bands, going through active filter and time-compensation stages. Cut-Off frequencies are 133Hz for the lo-mid freqs, and 723 Hz between the mid- and hi band. Then the hi, mid, and lo band go through individual but similar overdriving circuits, build up around two CD4049 ICs. Then summed in a mixer stage... then the summed signal goes through an Active two-pole LP-filter... then, MASTER and OUT!

Much of this is really just inherited from its progenitor – Blüe Monster - the news are three bands, not two, which led to double the amount of OP-s. Or there about. But it should be said, it was a bit tricky with the phasecompensation and stuff. But it is “theoretically perfect” as it is now

The creds... Craig Anderton is the father of the dualganged LP-filter i use in this box. His quadrafuzz has also influenced me to start playing with separate bands into ODs. Cred also to runoffgroove.com for the Double D, which I borrowed parts from.

One hopefully better soundclip (where I just play a few chords/riffs on some normal and extreme settings). Try to listen to parts where you really can hear how the tone is double (or even triple) processed.

The setup is the same on both video and soundclip, but the video is shot through my cellphone (both video and audio), and the soundclip is recorded with a GA D1 microphone  SP VTB1 preamp-> soundcard/PC. I play on a Xaviere LP with Dimarzio humbuckers into my lil watter amp into a 12” speaker cabinet.

The phase compensation is a nice touch - did you try it without first?

Tack Sam! Hmm, no, i didnt breadboard it without phase compensation first. But i have looked at it in simulation programs. And it definately happens "funny" stuff at the crossover frequencies if you dont compensate for phase, artefacts/notch filtering shows up.

I have two guitars; 1. the one in the video/soundclip, Xaviere LP with DiMarzio SD3 mic. 2. Ibanez RG(xxx?) with original V8 humbuckers. I have not tried it with any single coil mic. I have also played PINKÏNG through different amps. The biggest one is a Bugera 333 head + 4*12 and the smallest is the 1W practice amp you hear on the sound clip. They all sound good. My experience is - so far - if you get a good clean sound/channel on your amp, PINKÏNG will do a good job on most amps. If, however, your amp dont get completely clean (as my Orange Micro Terror) you may have to tweak things to give it justice.

  ... I should really learn to record something of a "more real", or rather "better" video. I mean, i have mics and DAW and everything you need for audio recording, and obviously i can capture moving (even though the pinking isnt really JUMPING around this one..) picures too. It cant be too hard to learn how to edit video for purposes like this... maybe to the next contest:)
