Muzique Guitar Pickup Simulation - Transformer

Hi guys,
I've just started running a wireless system and of course, it messes with my Fuzz Factory.
To help with this, I'm gonna make one of these to run after the receiver and before the fuzz: http://www.muzique.com/lab/pickups.htm
I think, from what I've read, this device will do the trick - or at least help.

I can't find the Transformer mentioned, (Mouser Part #: 42TM019-RC http://au.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Xicon/42TM019-RC/?qs=LQJGOuQCHKQk/aBX9yNCGw==), but I have found another one that looks like it might do the job that I can get locally.

I've been meaning to ask 3 questions about these and you're just the person.

So...

1.  How realistic are these simulators?  Is it best to stick the pedal first in my chain with a passive instrument when possible?
2.  If I have inductors available could I just scale the circuit to work with what I have?
3.  If I were to use an active LPF that matched the low pass curve of the pickup simulator would it sound the same?

What the sim does not have is the "tone control" effect with the passive volume control of a guitar or bass when the volume is not at maximum.

The series resistance of the volume control affects the high end bump with say a 470K or large input resistance after the passive guitar or bass.

I posted a screen shot of a sim and note the resistance this shows up in the sim at this forum in the past

You can also use a 6.8k or 10k or some other value in series between the receiver output and the input of the factory instead of the inductor. 
If the input of the wireless transmitter is a high enough resistance and you have the right amount of capacitance like you would get with a long cable you should get the high end peak that is controllable with the volume control so you will not need the inductor between the receiver and FF
