well i tried a bjt buffer in front, no sound at all...this is weird..

(buffer works fine on its own )

It would be nice to see the exact circuit that you are playing with... I guess is something like this?

But the problem might be (in) the details.

yep that's it...

(in) the details?... ???

i have a voltage divider and cap for vb if that's what you mean?..

Don't see a problem there... it should work, as you say!

Can I ask if you did biased the opamp?

Cheers.

i have 4.5v going to vb points..

Bad opamp? Bad BJT?

You could take the software engineering approach: take everything out the breadboard and try again. ;)

 ;D  yeah...

i'll go over it with another keen eye...

> i'm getting 8.12v on the in resistor

All points on the opamps and pots should *be* your Vb, +4.5V DC (assuming zero and +9V power).

Anything else is wrong.

The "Simple, Easy.." does not *need* a buffer for general use and happiness. However the input impedance is a little low to come right off a naked guitar with full highs, and the hiss level will be a bit high. A high-Z small-Gain amp in front may be part of the final configuration.

deadastronaut

cheers paul,

hmmmm...

i think i'll go for a different EQ circuit then...so much for simple eh. ;D

Have you considered rgs parametric eq

Does it work lol... ;D

i just bought a la3600, i,ll give that a go,

but yeah i,ll take a look at that too...

I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

prametric eqs are so cool. I built and modified a pq-4 and loved it. I haven't tried rg's though. also I'm not op.

@mr binns ''also i'm not op'' ?

Quotethink i'll go for this... http://electronics-lab.com/projects/audio/018/

You will need to recalc the capacitors values to adjust Q and frequency response  for a guitar signal. The given values are for "regular" audio.

The details and howtos is in the datasheet: http://www.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheets_pdf/L/A/3/6/LA3600.shtml

P.S.
Not much different from this: http://www.diale.org/simple-eq.html

hi tiago, yep, i was looking at your caps/freq's for it.. 8)

very handy..cheers man.

(wont get chip till monday), but that's fine...i'll be recovering from a weekends camping and beer up.. :P

The best active EQ I built so far is the one into the Wampler Triple Wreck, Middle response is great but the best is the bass response on it !
....worth a try  :icon_cool:

Accidentally, or not, R0 and R1 are the same... so you *can* use the same cap values for your chip. Looking forward to ear/see your build.

Cheers.
