Just a simple diode clipping circuit for a bass player, with a bypass switch added at her request. I put a resistor after the output cap to simulate a level knob as "turned up a bit past unity"
Sounds great with guitar too.

I would want to make anything with a Altoids can, but i never saw one. So i will be resigned with use sardines can. Hahaha

It actually is very cool, the bypass switch isn't really necessary but my friend really wanted it.
I like to think of this as a way to turn an old tube amp into something with a master volume without modding the amp. It's more like an outboard preamp, leave it on and use your guitar controls for the tone and gain changes. It's a lot of fun, I made a Tin Fuzz Face For someone else, he just loves it with his vintage Strat and Vibroluxe  8)
