DIY Amp pickup radio signal
« on: February 02, 2017, 09:59:43 PM »
I recently built a tin can amp following a YouTube tutorial. It picks up radio signal crazily, like, the same level as my guitar sound. It picks up radio with guitar plugged and gets even worse when a cable or guitar plugged in. Interesting that when I touch the tin can case the radio actually gets louder.
Does anyone know what the problem would be and how to fix this. Thanks a lot!!!

Welcome Bob, it would be useful if you could post pictures and a schematic. Without, we're working in the dark but most often, this effect can be traced to poor earthing. If you are actually using a tin can, check that the can does not have a lining which may prevent any jack sockets from making good contact with the can.
