What to do with the ds-1?

Hi guys, new to the forum but keen to learn.
I recently rediscovered my boss ds-1 that I blew up after being given the wrong power lead. It's non-functioning at present. By the looks of things a diode went and took a capacitor with it. Basically I just wanted some opinions/advice.
Do I:
1. Purchase replacement components and swap out the damaged ones
2. Gut the thing and reuse the enclosure and internal components to build a different circuit

On the second point, does anyone know what I can make from the guts of a boss ds-1?

i'd fix it before anything else, its a good dirt pedal. not an amp sim in a box but a good 'in front of a good clean amp' dirty channel. and its a good platform to mod if you wanna mess with it, bmp type mild midscoop can be altered, or mess with adding diodes, or swapping em. but i like it as is.
