The first 34 seconds are just the CMOS clipping from my Onkotherium with the clipping diodes disenganged:

So all the clipping comes from two CMOS inverters and because the second one has unity gain, they both add a very similar amount of clipping, making it even softer and less linear than a single stage. But here as well: Bass and mid controls before and treble control after the clipping stage as well as feedback caps in the inverters are what makes most of the sound character.
