Green ringer sounding terrible

Hi,
My second pedal project is a Green Ringer on perfboard.
I made one on perfboard, and it didn't sound great. A tiny hint of the octave effect on some notes, but otherwise just sounds a bit "electronic" and crunchy with lots of attack.
I bought a breadboard and built another one, this sounds very similar.
