GGG General Guitar Gadgets TOCT Tycho Octave Transistor Selections

Hi Everyone,

I built the GGG TOCT a while ago and I really like it.  I've recently brought it out of the closet and dusted it off to add it to my pedalboard.  I used the transistors that came with the kit, but JD says in the instructions that the transistor selection can make some difference in the sound.  I am wondering if anyone has experimented with the transistors in this project?  Is it a question of different transistors or just different gains from the same transistor type? 

I would appreciate hearing anyone's thoughts on this circuit!!!  What other tweaks did you try and like?
