Hi there before some months i built small stone phaser with the pcb of tonepad. It worked fantastic, it soungs amazingly good and it's my favourite effect now. When i was setting the speed pot at max there was a tick-tick. Yesterday i read the tonepad's build reports for small stone and Charlie Lamm reported that the key is the 0.1uF cap wich is mounted
directly to the color switch. He stated that the 0.1u didn't remove the ticking so he used a 10u. So i did this today and now ticking is almost inaudible but there is also some change in sound especially when color switch is off (i think). When i set speed pot at max there is a vibrato like effect and at lower settings i get normal phasing sounds. I like it , but is that normal if i remember well there was not a vibrato effect before
the 10uF cap. When i turn on the color switch i don't notice any change in sound than before (except the antitick of course). Do you think that vibrato should be there but i didn't noticed before and now with this cap is cleaner? I didn't any other mod yet but i would like this univibe mod.

My small stone does the vibrato thing very well~!!  I love the ability to go from phase to watery bubbles to vibrato.

The vibrato might not have been there before due to the cap being wrong or ??  It is supposed to do that.

Enjoy~!! :D

I just finished my Small Stone buld, using the pcb from tonepad.com. I used a 1uF cap. It behaves similar, phasing in one position, vibrato in the other. But it sounds good, so it´s ok  :)

Hi. According to my experience, the best way for eliminating the LFO Tic-Tic is a 1uF film connected to pins 2 & 3 of the IC5. Regards.
