has anyone built one from the layout at geofex, i have a few ?
how it sounds?, does it is worth building one?, i'm looking for a versatile distortion to play alternative rock thanks.

being perfectly honest, this pedal doesn't do it for me. I built one and first battery went flat i didn't bother replacing it. I found the sound more bluesy than anything. Not really my thing, also the switches didn't do enough couldn't hear the difference well enough to make it worth each one. But the idea was a good one JH it just didn't do it for me.

It seems like people either love or hate it. I was going to build one, but I seem to have heard more negative things about it than good things. Maybe people have too high of an expectation of it?

Yep, I did, it is a nice versatile pedal. It has a lot of options as you can see on John Hollis' page.

It doesn't really excel on the specific setting.

If you want a versatile unit, build it. If you want a specific sound, you may want to look futher.
