linear 10k's....

note the 1mA's for speed /depth are wired backwards...(just work a lot better)

Yeah I perused the schematic a little. Looks like a great build. The demo video is very nice too BTW.

And yeah I couldn't get the embedded videos on your site to play, but YouTube always works.

I thought you must have just let go as you passed over on your last orbit :)

DA does it do the crazy self oscilation thing when you fully crank the repeats? (looks like it almost does from the video) I'm looking at building something like the dreamtime but with a momentary switch to go into self oscillating. Thanks!

deadastronaut

Hi chris. Sure anythings possible .

A momentary switch across the repeats pot may do it.....or across a resistor.  I.ll give it a go later... 8)

There's beautiful lush sounds in there.   Really cool.

i draw a layout for 1590B-ish perf, so tight!

I was just poking around with your schematic.

Is C29 (47n) supposed to go on the other side of R24 (2k2)?

For cascade delays, it might be possible to remove the input filter from the second delay since you already have a filter on the output of the previous delay chip.   (Saves a few parts an makes the layout less cramped.)

wow. nice layout, you want to do all mine from now on?

Dumb question...  could I then wire C1M's the opposite way for the same taper but having a CW turn increase depth and decrease speed ?

Chris S

Hey all just built this. Sounds great. Really good quality board too!

BetterOffShred I built my with 1MC pots and wired them backwards for CW turn to increase depth and speed.

DA The cap I'm using for the darker repeats is way bigger than you intended (30n). As a result the number of repeats is much lower (as well as volume) even when the rate knob is fully cranked. What resistor will i need to lower to make this happen? (i realise this will push the delay into self oscilation quicker on the hi setting).

Thanks.

deadastronaut

hi glad you got it working ok....get rid of that 30n...that is wayyyyyyyyy too large,

surprised you hear any delay at all....larger the darker, smaller the brighter.

Had another listen, yeah that cap was a bit of an over shoot. Settled on 15n for the dark setting. Thanks again for the design. I built mine with a 4pdt that switches between two different mix, repeat and time settings. Couldn't be happier.

deadastronaut

cool, yeah its a great delay....love the chorus/modulation too.. 8)

the Delay ist up and Running on my Bench :-)

many Thanks for your great work deadastronaut.

here are my Changes so far:

R for LFO LED = 4k7

max Delay time is 1 sek / 17MHz Clock ( I limited 50k Poti with parallel Resistor to 40k)

min f-Clock is 1.4 MHz - following Datasheet 2x40ms (80ms)

great worm sounding standard all you need Delay - sure will find a Place on my Board  :icon_mrgreen:

excellent, glad its up n running, nice work man. 8)

i have mine on my bench all the time for when i'm testing stuff, great all rounder.  8) 8) 8)

i'll have to build another one  i think....can never have too many delays... :icon_mrgreen:

Can't believe that I've had this board for nearly 2 years and have only just built it.

It sounds sooo good! Not boxed yet, swapped the lfo  spdt  for a dpdt so I can turn the 'eyes' off at the same time. Had to replace the other switch as well just to get them to line up so am wondering what I can utilise the extra pole for.

Another nice one Rob

You're not the only one! I have a board for more than 7 months, and just have populated it :) Hope I will test it tomorrow.

Which reminds me to ask: how to orient the pots, because pot pins are not marked on PCB :(
