Bypass Looper with remote control

I have seen a similar solution but in a rackmount. I want to create this on my pedalboard.
Since I have been searching for the better part of 2 years I believe I must build my own.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I thank you for any ideas or suggestions.
Here is what I am hoping to accomplish. Simply (or not so simply) a true bypass looper that sits on my pedal board with a single chord running to the front of stage to a stompbox to control the looper.
