I'm about to throw this one out  :o now I can't calibrate it, I just get ERROR when the pedal is in down position..

Don't throw it out  :o At worst, I am sure someone can fix it for you if you come to a dead end.

Who burned your EEPROM? Also, did the pedal calibrate at all before you got this error or is this the first time trying to calibrate it?

I have calibrated it lots of times, I chanced the 7805 with the heat sink as it did run a little hot, and then it wouldn't calibrate so I changed it back to the old 7805 but it still would not calibrate, I have had this happen before, but after a while I always got it  calibrated , but now I can't.

I burned the Eeprom myself and have burned lots of Eeproms, so I don't think the Eeprom is the problem.
