So in my order for parts I got some 100k lin pots for a BMP,

but I didn't notice from the picture or the description that they are 13mm diameter, they are tiny things!
Well, tiny for me. I stay away from 1590A stuff...

Anyone use this style?
They were very cheap ($0.30), but they look ok.
I wonder if they will last?

I have big pots I can use too...but maybe I'll try them. I can get small knobs that match the knobs I already have too...

Just don't see many builds with this size (apart from tiny knob stuff on TC pedals, etc)

I think you should be okay. If they seem solid you're probably fine.

A lot of the 1590a builds use 9mm pots, tiddly (speaking as someone who's more used to 25mm pots, only recently tried 16mm... :) )

ElectricDruid

These days, 13mm isn't even small...

Back when I used to play with amps, I thought 16mm pots were small. There are plenty of 9mm pots about now though. The 9mm square ones used on a lot of Eurorack modular synth gear are decent quality and nice and solid, so bigger is not equal to better in this case.

I love 9mm and 1590A builds.  I just built a modded percolator in a 1590A with 9mms.. so nice.

I use the big 24mm pots on amps of course, they just feel good and fit the panels.   :icon_mrgreen:

I really gotta look at my pot supply...values and sizes are all over the place.
Problem is that between my local suppliers, they all have different kinds themselves.
No one has all the values in one size/type!

One day i'll put a massive smallbear order in and get it couriered here.

You can get multiturn trimpots with knobs:

and single-turn trimpots with knobs:

Do you really need anything else?

Those multiturns look sexy! Im getting those for my next project! Im a fan of small pots, so they dont take up any enclosure real estate! Im not always a fan of big knobs, im a fan of trimmers inside the pedal!
friendly reminder: all holes are positive and have negative weight, despite not being there.

cheers

Set and Forget to the max!

I like it.

They are Mantech in South Africa, and might be tricky doing shipping:(
most of their stuff is really cheap!
Those were R4.50 each, which is actually cheaper than a bag of chips.

I see that they are affiliated with Mobicon in Hong Kong, though. That might explain something...
