Anyone? Please help!!

Hey guys, when I recently built my Scrambler I added in a volume control at the end of the circuit. I used a 100K pot to ground. Is there any way I could get the volume level any higher? Would using a higher value pot increase output. What is the best way to add a volume control to a project like this?

I used a 100K pot to ground.
One outer leg of pot to ground, one outer leg to circuit output and center leg out to jack

But I would try a 500k there.
 Then you could add even more resistance to ground, from the pot by adding a resistor there, to let even more signal through.  
 If I'm wrong here somebody blast me...
