Hello,

I'm building one of these.

I'm using the non-strip board layout. All knobs are trimpots, except gain, which I am using a regular pot.

It was working 2 days ago, so all the wiring I believe is correct. Now there is no sound.

Pin Voltages

1. 0.02.    8. 9.32
2. 0.02.    7. 4.67
3. 0.02.    6. 4.68
4. 0.00.    5. 2.31

L78L33 Pin Voltage
1. 9.32
2. 0.00
3. 3.38

Nutube
1. 3.38
4. 0.02
7. 0.02
8. 0.00
9. 1.68
10. 0.02
14. 1.52
17. 0.00

I'm rather perplexed it just stopped. Id say it's very clean underneath. Does anyone have a clue what these pin voltages are saying?

Thanks

And instead of glowing green, like my successful previous build of this same thing, it is 2 orange lines. It was like this 2 days ago but working and sounding right.

From the voltages it looks like the problem is around the tube. I don't know exactly what the voltages should be but the anodes (pins 7 and 10) should be much higher than they are. Are you getting 9 volts on the other ends of R9 and R10?

I would also expect pins 1 to 3 of the op amp to also be higher (assuming that side is in use).

That opamp pins 1, 2 & 3 is buffering the last tube stage anode so will only give what it's given.
I think that both tube anodes have exactly the same volts is suspcious.

The faint orange glow is the heaters.

If the tube had plate current there would be green phosphor glow.

Pins 7 and 10 must be significantly positive to get plate current to flow. "Real" tubes use 50V-300V. NuTube is specced for 10V. 0.2V aint good enough. Find out why you are not getting positive voltage to pins 7 and 10.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check out the pins when I get back in the shop.
