DeadAstronaut's Chasm Reverb wiring help

I'm in the process of building DeadAstronaut's Chasm Reverb and I'm a little stuck/confused on the wiring part (I'm pretty new to this). I wired everything up with alligator clips to test before I start soldering, however I'm getting no sound from the in/out jacks and the LED also isn't coming on. This leads me to think I'm not wiring everything up properly. I've been referencing the switch wiring diagram (https://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/ff4c6c_58f8a6b9d0db4a71b1e770234bb0db25.pdf) on DeadAstronaut's site, however I'm still stuck.

See attached image for what my build looks like thus far. I also added a diagram showing how I am wiring everything. Is something wrong?

Have you checked the board is getting power?
If so, any chance you've swapped input and output connections?
If that doesn't work:

Project details (schematics, layouts, etc) are slowly being added here: http://samdump.wordpress.com

Looks ok, like Sam said make sure your getting power to the board.

And make sure you have tip n sleeve on that stereo out Jack too.

I confirmed that I am getting power to the board... My multimeter reads -9.4V. The LED still isn't turning on though and I'm not getting any audio. I also double checked my wiring.  :-\

I believe that should be +PLUS+ 9V, if you are measuring correctly.

Connecting power backward is a very popular mistake (I'm not gonna tell my story again).

You're right  :icon_redface:. I just switched the power around and the LED came right on! So I was supposed to have 9V pad connected to the sleeve and GND to tip? That's opposite to other pedals I've done thus far. I'll have to test the audio tomorrow as the wife is sleeping now...  :icon_wink:

The perhaps questionable "standard" popularised by Boss is centre-negative.  Good luck with the testing.  I can't remember if Rob had polarity protection on that board (he probably did...).  There are candidates on there that may have become troubled by the reverse power.

deadastronaut

Yes it has polarity protection.

And is tip negative power....as standard.

Do you have sound?

I do have sound now! It sounds great. One small issue.. I must have wired the pots backwards too because I wasn't getting any volume until I turned the knob to the left  ::)

Thanks for the help everyone!

deadastronaut

ok, good........

yep, back of pots 3 2 1.

Rob is left-handed.   ;)

saying that i do often use log pots wired backwards....deliberately.  8)

I bet you do retrograde orbits too.   :D

Yup, reversing the log can be bleeding useful sound wise. Many of my pedals have labels such as 'ArseAboutFace Tone'  ;)
