Hello DIYstompboxes, first post... longtime guitar player, but new to DIY pedal modding.
I successfully rewired/reversed the OUTPUT & BYPASS jacks on my Boss TU-2 tuner pedal so that it would sit closer to the neighboring Boss pedal on a pedalboard while still retaining its mute functionality. I initially thought I could simply swap the jacks, but I discovered that they were not identical – the OUTPUT jack would not fit properly in the BYPASS jack slot. So I desoldered/swapped/resoldered the leads at the jack-lug end, not the PCB. Works great. I've never needed the BYPASS jack. If you do, this mod is probably not for you.
