I bought some from Amazon recently, but it seemed kind of expensive for what I got. Couldn't find this topic with search. Any ideas welcome. Thanks!

I've bought from Amazon before.
Price is relative.  You may have purchased cheaply made boards in the past, and you are comparing the price to that experience. Sometimes you have to calculate the total area of multiple board packs to adequately compare pricing.

It has long been a cause of mine to steer people away from buying cheap phenolic resin/Bakelite boards.  FR-4 glass epoxy boards are more expensive and much harder to cut (I use a hacksaw and file the edges smooth after cutting), but they are more reliable against thermal and mechanical stress.  Plus, they make a satisfying plink sound when dropped onto a hard surface.   :icon_cool:

nope - at the end of the day, you have to find the cut bit of board in all the junk, dirt, offcuts on the floor, where the plinker landed. where did it land?
