Taptation LED goes out of sync

 Hello everyone!

I know the taptation is an old project, but I just tried my luck on the taptation IC and I run into something strange. Although the tap tempo is set correctly with my PT2399 (after debugging all the possible problems with the digital potentiometer), however the led goes out of sync for a while, then it goes back in sync. I tried counting the led blinks with a metronome at various speeds just to be sure. The led is hooked directly to the pcb for testing purposes, so no long running wires. Anyone came across this issue? After reading all the post related to taptation's syncing problems, I think that all code bugs where gone (while most of people had the opposite issues, led blinking in tempo, while delay is out of tempo), so could it be a problem with the particular IC I got?
