Hi Folks!

I'm asking help from Japan.
I assembled Aion Refractor and there is a problem. Project file below.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/dl/4xhwadzx2rxbm8z/aion-refractor-centaur-documentation-v2.pdf

Problem: There is a noise mixed to distortion. It sounds like a gated distortion that occurs with a poorly formed fuzz face.
Please kindly check below sound file.

This noise makes me very disappointed..
Please kindly tell me the possible causes.

Hello, and welcome!

It will help us to have a bit of information.  See the thread here https://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=29816.0

Come back and post some of the information in this thread here and that will help a lot.

Oh yes, one of the really common problems with this circuit seems to be that people install C16 backwards.  It does seem to affect the sound if it is backwards, so please check it.  With a Tantalum capacitor the +ve lead is usually marked, whereas with an electrolytic it is usually -ve that is marked.

Hi DIY Bass,

Thanks for the reply.
Finally I found out the root cause was bad IC (TL072)!
Now it works beautifully fine.
