AD633 Ring Modulator with LFO:I am kinda cofused on this one..I think its for guitar but may be wrong? i have it layed out up to the area with +/_ 15v then i started thinking this might not be for guitar ..could anyone advise me? I want to build a ring mod for guitar...this was the schematic i found..if this is only for keys or synth does anyone know of a guitar ring mod? would love to get something like the mold spore without the rocker pedal..thanks ..p.s.i allway hit like for replies!!! :icon_lol:

You *could* use it for guitar, but it's not designed as a stompbox. The +/-15V supply and the 100K input are a dead giveaway for a modular synth circuit. And then I spot Roman Sowa's name on it, which confirms it.

The AD633 needs a minimum supply of +/-8V, so it's not easy for a stompbox design (could be done with a voltage inverter circuit to make a +/-9V, but that may well cause other issues).

Alternatively, there are some ring mod circuits based on the LM13700, and I *know* that runs at 9V. Some good discussion here:

Have a look at circuits using the LM567, there's a few knocking about and they can be a lot of fun especially when you get LFOs involved

Not a mistake, build the Freekout https://www.madbeanpedals.com/projects/index.html

I know the Fairfield Randy's Revenge uses (used?) a split 9V with a voltage inverter, personally I tried a design at +/-8V and thought the S/N drop vs. 15V split made it a bit of a waste of a good chip.

That Madbean Freekout is pretty cool. Runs it on an 18V input, with a regulator and inverter to get a full +/-15V supply. Nice.

The AD633 is also used is the Frostwave blue ringer, which Deadendfx has a board for (hapolachlaena.) I got a few of them when I did that build and have been thinking about giving the freekout (previously mentioned) over at Madbean a shot due to its smaller footprint.
