Hello!

I am planning on building a simple effect box for an authentic tube drive sound.
My idea was to replicate the Fender 5C1 circuit and attach an attenuator to bring it back to line (or instrument?) level.
The gain/volume control of the 5C1 circuit would sit on a dual-gang pot together with the attenuator to provide a somewhat constant output level.

What do you think about this idea and what kind of attenuator design would be suited for this project?

It's called a "Herzog", the box Gar built for Randy after American Woman blew-up too many amplifiers.

I don't think the pots should be ganged. That cuts-out most of adjustment space. Like any good musical effect, it is a balance of different influences, so 2 knobs.
